strategic internal communications plan


Philips CIS – part of Philips Medical Systems – develops and produces high-quality image processing systems. In recent years the company was forced to become more and more market-oriented and work with a leaner operations base. The management team knew what had to change, but struggled with how to explain this to its personnel. To find out what issues were on the minds of their employees Hanniebal interviewed a large number of employees and customers. The results were translated, in conjunction with management, into a new communications strategy. Hanniebal then wrote a plan for the internal communications and supervised a 6-weekly strategic newsletter, a completely revised introduction course and a regular evaluation of the strategy amongst employees.
